Budak Pantai vs Tekka Market
28 Feb Mon

Review:
For those who missed the 30-min show, BP's episode was commented by Jean Danker. The starting offered snippets of RGS choir singing with the group as well as behind-the scenes.
Kah Keh's house was featured as they were planning how to reach out to the audience in tekka market. The show also invited a stylist who was shown shopping around to better portray bp's image for the tekka inpromptu performance.
Obviously those who go to Blue Moo, appreciated their style of singing more. Scenes of seeing how BP rehearsed before the performance at Blue Moo were shown. Michael briefly introduced how each member are like.
As an a cappella group, glitches in the sound can affect the sound quality of the group singing which differs from a live band with instruments. Michael mentioned that any sound glitches can affect the group . This is so for Kah Keh who sing bass. He commented that because he sings such low notes, the noisy environment affect him the most as he wouldn't be able to hear himself from the speakers.
Despite the sound glitch in the sound system at the start of their performance, bp remained professional throughout. While singing Yi Bei Cha, Joe was quick enough to "cover up" by pretending to have a phone in his hand. *applause frm me!!* There were also passer-bys who dropped money into the opened guitar case, which was not featured on the episode.
The bad point about BP's episode is that the transition from one scene to another was very rushed. Lack of scene flow due to over-editing which they cut a lot from the actual thing when I was there at tekka.
But on the whole, the experience of seeing BP performing at tekka isn't a bad thing and one can get to know bp a little better. It was interesting to see the process dat bp went through the filming. Frankly, it was great dat how fellow singaporeans support local talents esp in the arts arena.
