Woo hoo! After leaving e musically stifling bnp, i felt so invigorated after so long & ready to sing again ! * stretch arms, legs & muscles. If i actually get to do vocal lessons, i plan to sing pop, jazz style in the a cappella genre.
Now it's the seasons of the arts. U can literally feel 'arts is in the air' atmosphere locally. So i'm not li4 wai4.... Recently Budak got this vomit-inducing song in "Unbreak my heart" which had yet to get me tickled. As to why it' "vomit -inducing", the xuan2 ji1 is in e lyrics, hehe... Maybe i need a long time to "digest" most songs. Just like gordon's "king of wishful thinking" which by now i came to love the song ! Except for "pedro's song" which had been "blacklisted" from my mp3 player & ears 4eva! Muahaha... :)p Anw, Budak songs often inspire me when it comes to a cappella arranging ! a cappella wan4 sui4 !
Well, i started to transcribe Budak's "the reason" arr but only the intro part which i particularly like. But the bad thing is it's going at a super snail pace due to me being unable to get e notation right. My sightreading so "good", rite? Anw, i'll be going for e A CAPPELLA open mic this Wed, details are as below... @@ down here lor...
GOT! A CAPPELLA OPEN MIC AT THE SINGAPORE ART CAFE
GOT! stands for Gathering Of Talents. And that is exactly what is happening each Wednesday evening, at the Singapore Art Cafe, located within the Esplanade library. The open mic session on July 12 will feature vocal bands. GOT! A Cappella will showcase 2 budding a cappella groups M18 & Vocollision on July 12 (Wed) . It is hoped that such open mics will help raise the profile of a cappella music in Singapore. Established groups are also encouraged to participate in the open mic so as to provide inspiration to the younger ones.
