Jazz at blue Moo

Last evening, i went to help out at blue Moo for Kak's jazzy solo performance. It was quite disarming to have so many SMU students helping out when the no. of ppl coming is less than 100. Anyway, cowpat & i tried jamming with music blasting our ears from the sound system.
The English songs didn't quite work out but we both managed to jam 1 Chinese song, haha ! Hey, it's a pretty good attempt leh!

Btw Bessy the cow had grown "fatter", haha ! Danny put it there & it must have had too much milk, muahaha, see below....

It was his 2nd solo gig without Budak but surprise, surprise... a first with the other 4 Budaks singing as guest performing. Kak really made improvement in singing ( maybe becos of his SLS lessons?) & humor department. Though he seemed nervous at times, he can hold the audience pretty well. Well, there's always room for improvement.

It was a last min surprise when 4/5 of Budak (as in Mike, Joe, Gordon & Danny) performed. Mike opened the performance with his ultra comical "Somewhere over the rainbow" with a tiny guitar. Joe sang the vomitable (is there such a word?) "Unbreak my heart" which had the audience laughing.

Kak sang mostly slow jazz songs most of the times with some mid-tempo bossa nova tunes, like Wave, One Note Samba. He did a convincing song in Prelude to a Kiss which is quite nice. The evening was really pleasant & soothing with a jazzy snazzy feel to it. Kak displayed his humorous side through his "accidents" (like tripping over the stage lamp, knocking things off) & joking on stage. Well, he shld do this solo more often !
