A Cappella open mic

Last nite Grace, Lizzy, WJ & i went for the open mic @ SAC. I thought we're in for a treat as there were 3 groups performing - M-Pact, Agappella & TAS Youth. Not that i regard listening the 3rd grp a treat:X I was looking fwd to checking out the 1st 2 groups as i had never listened to them before.

Agappella was not bad for a budding amateur grp but their sound was sparse and i feel that that the grp had a tat too many members. Their repertoire were quite ok despite the fact the song arrangements were traditional and choral-like.

TAS Youth were very...well... blah. I expected it and the grp had just a slight improvement. That's why i'm never keen on promoting sec sch age a cappella grps. I shall put it here in a la Singlish manner: will not watch 'em even u give me free tix !

M-Pact proved to be a disappointment as i expected their signature hiphop tunes instead of traditional singing which was.... dunno what to say. Anyway Grace & i managed to score a pair of tickets to watch their concert, so if i can change my impression of them then. Even WJ & i agreed that Rockapella is way better ! This open mic was quite not what i like it to turn out to be and i still prefer the singing cum jamming session as always...
