Phew ! Thankfully last Sat Trinity Grade 5 piano theory exam was easier than i thought or rather practiced... Had to reach the exam venue by 9am so i had to sacrifice my Zzzz.... I didn't stay in the exam room for long (abt an hr & 15 mins) as my brains were frozen to bits ! All the madness & cramming paid off ! Yes, i will take a darn long break from classical piano !
I was supposed to meet up with WJ around 1.45p.m but i ended up at library@Esplanade to return my long overdued book. Before that i dropped by HMV along the way & bought Corrine May's "The Gift" Christmas album - her latest. Got it for $18.95. Really mellow & simple with a traditional arrangments to the usual carols. But... her vocals are really soothing & heartwarming.
Finally WJ & I reached his vocal teacher's house, he had his usual lesson. Guess what, the teacher's vocal friend who had studied in Germany for umpteen years taught the basics in German. Wow, really tough as German has a lot rules & exceptions & even the "rolling of Rs". Even the language sounds gutteral but heck, it was fun learning a little bit of German. I've definitely benefited a lot from just an hour's session !
Later i left halfway thru the lesson to join my youngest brat of a sis to catch "Sinking of Japan". Well, its a typical disaster show with all the calamities & panic save for an exaggerated visual effects. The director is obviously very imginative in piling 1 disaster after the other in span of few seconds. What's not to have for a hint of romance in the storyline. The movie is a mark of heroism where the insignificant person in the world of politics gave up his life to save all. So touching ?... That remains to see...
