Rockapella !

My oh my ! Really "earned it " le !!! I got 2 pairs of free tickets to Rockapella concert last night. I have to say it's worth and stall seats some more. Wj & i were wowed by the fact that we are 4 rows away + center from the stage. Anyway i bought their CD titled"Rockapella: Live in Japan" and a cappella score book. Blew quite an amt....

Rockapella catapulted to stardom after singing the really earned their namesake ! From the classic oldies like My Girl (by the Temptations) to Motown-tinged tunes, they gave an edgy sound to each & every song. While most groups tend to do to overdo the vocal percussion bit, the group's beatboxer, Jeff Thatcher's percussive beats were smooth and balanced.

They brought easy listening hits such as Love Potion #9, Use Me, Long Cool Woman and the audience really lapped it up. The group even threw smiley balls at the audience and one of its members got to the audience side to invite a lady onto the stage and seranaded her. Rockapella truly milked the audience who were enthralled by their comedic antics & sleek choreography.
Indeed the group did get a standing ovation which is no mean feat for their first time performance in Singapore. I would say that Rockapella gave a stellar performance which is truly electrifying !
